Quote of the day:
I am my best work ... a series of road maps, reports, recipes, doodles, and prayers from the front lines. Audre Lorde
When I was young I wanted to be a nun. I have always been in awe of the pure. The ability to be so clearly on the side of righteousness, and more than that, to know the truth and be prepared to give up everything and all, including life, for it. I always loved Joan of Arc. On the other hand I have known very few people who have chosen the path of the pure who are non-judgmental and accepting of other points of view. For example, I have known some people who chose their path and were quite arrogant and scorning of those who did not agree. And, of course, there are so many who choose religion and look down on all those "sinners" out there. Once in a great while I come across a person whose humility in faith humbles me. It is as if a great light is shining around them and I am sitting in a shadow trying to peek in. And yet, they allow me in without expectation. Just to share. No more. No less.
I met such a woman last night.
