I've seen and heard so much about the Oscar nominations today here and here. Am thinking of other things. Like where I am in my life right now. I'll write more about that later. But let me just share this.
Cynthia sent me a quote she read in the New York Times this weekend. She wrote, "It was from an article about a woman who went through a divorce and had to brace herself to get back into the dating scene. She talks about being afraid, then says": Accept that you’re scared to death and do it anyway. On the other side of doing it, you become courageous.
It fits the description of my blog and connects me to what I am working on lately within myself:
Fear the final frontier
A long, lost friend of mine once said that to me. It's sad when a friend becomes lost to me.
Today I was working out on the treadmill and
listening to my new, tiny MP3 player that is attached to my arm. Literally, it is that small that I am able to attach it to my upper arm with an arm band. The mind boggles!
Sheryl Crow comes on with Every Day is a Winding Road and the words penetrate my soul. Don't you love it when that happens? When words penetrate the soul?
I hitched a ride with a vending machine repair man
He says he's been down this road more than twice
He was high on intellectualism
I've never been there but the brochure looks nice
Jump in, let's go
Lay back, enjoy the show
Everybody gets high, everybody gets low,
These are the days when anything goes
Everyday is a winding road
I get a little bit closer
Everyday is a faded sign
I get a little bit closer to feeling fine
He's got a daughter he calls Easter
She was born on a Tuesday night
I'm just wondering why I feel so all alone
Why I'm a stranger in my own life
Jump in, let's go
Lay back, enjoy the show
Everybody gets high, everybody gets low
These are the days when anything goes
Everyday is a winding road
I get a little bit closer
Everyday is a faded sign
I get a little bit closer
Everyday is a winding road
I get a little bit closer
Everyday is a faded sign
I get a little bit closer to feeling fine
I've been swimming in a sea of anarchy
I've been living on coffee and nicotine
I've been wondering if all the things I've seen
Were ever real, were ever really happening
Everyday is a winding road
I get a little bit closer
Everyday is a faded sign
I get a little bit closer
Everyday is a winding road
I get a little bit closer
Everyday is a faded sign
I get a little bit closer to feeling fine
Everyday is a winding road
