Quote of the day:
Oh the comfort, the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person; having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words but to pour them all out, just as it is, chaff and grain together, knowing that a faithful hand will take and sift them, keeping what is worth keeping. and then, with the breath of kindness blow the rest away - George Eliot (thanks to Sally).
Well, on Thursday night I fly again. This time to England. So much to do and many, many people to see. I wonder if ten days will be enough. The main reason for the trip is to present a paper at a conference.
Some of you might remember my friend, Jan. She called to say she will be flying from Italy into London to see me. How lucky can I be? I simply cannot wait to see her again.
Since I became a blogger I have "cyber" met a couple of old friends from my Youth Movement Days in Africa. Well, we will be reconnecting in London Town. As well as a long lost cousin - all whom I have not seen for over 35 years. How exciting is that?
None of this could have been possible if I did not have a place to stay in central London.
My Buffalo buddies will be there waiting for me. Each year, they rent an apartment in London for a couple of months. They talk about working with another College - writing books, things like that. But, in truth, I think they really like theater and museums and traveling all over Europe. I am not complaining because Alan has booked 2 plays and a ballet for me to go with them.
I have so much to tell everyone about Philadelphia, how much Tom loves his new work, and how Molly, Ada and I have adjusted - finally. Of course my laptop will accompany me and hopefully my digital camera will work (it is highly temperamental, you see) so that I can stop in and visit my blogger friends from time to time and, who knows - perhaps I will have time to write a thing or two. Otherwise, I hope you will all await my return at the end of March.
I hope you have a wonderful time with your family and friends. Looking forward to reading your experiences when you get back (unless you are planning to post from Warwick).

Franchini, I will probably post from London as I will be busy conferencing in Warwick - if I post at all. Depends on wireless availability and time on my hands. Thanks for your good wishes.

Yes, have a great time. It seems to be a really interesting conference and paper as well. Are you nervous?

Thanks Adriana and Ella. What wonderful bloggers to carry with me across the ocean.
Ella, am not nervous yet - will be on 23rd when I have to present.
Smiles.
