Am doing it my way

Thank you, Jean for British flowers on my birthday. Thanks to franchini for remembering, and your good wishes.

A bit of history. When I was growing up in Southern Rhodesia, May 24 was either Commonwealth Day or Queen Victoria's birthday. I cannot remember which. I do remember jets flying overhead when I was a child, and at one of my birthday parties all the children ran outside excitedly to see them.

Today, no jets. 

I was thinking about turning 56: "Isn't 55 the limit?" I thought.

Oh well, I guess I will just have to keep on keeping on!

And now, with a bit of tweaking (please forgive me, Frank) I will sing you my version of My Way. You'll have to imagine my warbling sweetly in your mind, because this blog is not audio.
