Danny

I love reading all of the replies to this "meme" but please forgive me if I don't respond myself! I'm noticing my typically rebellious response to this type of request including my insecurity that I'm not smart enough, don't read enough, and can't "compete" with the brilliance of such literary bloggers. Oy, all that new therapy material coming out of such a fun idea!

I HATE to think of myself as competitive in this context but I do find that if I'm asked to answer questions as part of a group I start wondering how I can possibly be clever enough and that makes me run screaming because "trying to be clever" is death to my writing. Luckily, writing about Hayley Mills and Julie Newmar produces no such insecurities--it just flows out of me (God I'm a freak!). Now, if your "meme" was about bad 1970s television, well...I've already mentioned several of the fictional characters I had a crush on!

Danny, you are *so* not a freak! Good heavens. I certainly know how you feel re: competing with these great literary minds. I felt quite challenged when called upon to take the baton and I still feel quite small in comparison to Amba and RLC, let me tell you!

In any case, I left it totally open to you because I have come to know and love your "rebellious response" to this kind of thing and was sure you wouldn't want to do it. I forgot that it could become an excellent therapeutic opportunity for you, though. I had fun *sort of* inviting you and am thrilled by this comment of yours right here!

Finished my meme. I understand the angst, Danny, my pleasure reading is nothing to brag about.

Matt

Tamar, I finally got around to responding! Here it is:

Hey Matt, that's great. I thought you might have forgotten as you have been so busy lately. Anyway, I've posted you, here:

Am thrilled that you talk of Tess of the D'Ubervilles - what memories for me. Thank you.
