"lmeade" showed us the picture while commenting over at Richard Cohen, who tells a tale of peasants buying pigs, and then Ronni speaks of them:
Never try to teach a pig to sing – it wastes your time and annoys the pig. Mark Twain.

Okay, that is too weird a coincidence. You, of all people, post a picture of Arnold the Pig from the set of the classic 1960s TV sitcom "Green Acres" (which I used to watch religiously but I'm sure you've never seen) and as you were posting that I was standing on the very soundstage in Hollywood where "Green Acres" was filmed because my two non-actor nephews from Chicago were shooting a Quaker Oats commercial on it. So I was talking about "Green Acres" all day AND Arnold the Pig! The freaky tendrils of the blogosphere. I'll write about that bizarre Hollywood experience on my blog this weekend...

I can't wait to read it, Danny. I love the expression: "the freaky tendrils of the blogosphere."
But do tell: what could you possibly mean by "you of all people?" ... hmmm ...?

Because while I was turning my brain into mush in front of my TV set during the 60s I'm guessing you were doing more productive things like protesting discrimination and reading great literature!
Or were you a closet "Green Acres" fan?

Ah - I see you know me quite well!
I guess I might have wanted to turn my brain into mush, Danny, but back in those days in Southern Rhodesia television was only beginning for us.

"Greeeeeeeeeeeeen Acres is the place to be!"
I have singing cats. They vocalise quite nicely when they are in the mood.

Joel, I would SO love to hear those cats of yours! Mine talk to me but they do not sing - yet!
