Quote of the day
If the person you are talking to doesn't appear to be listening, be patient. It may simply be that he has a small piece of fluff in his ear.

I once knew Nimrod Sumner. I thought about him today. He gave me this picture 34 years ago. It has accompanied me to the New World and beyond.
I think it is about listening.
I love this image - a perfect, reality-based illustration. It speaks truth (if only our receiving devices weren't so small!).

Saw your nice post to Ollie and thought I would stop by and visit...love the drawing, and yes, I can "hear" you. I'll be back.
Stop by and see me sometime. I love when "smart" women visit and comment on my latest "pontification.
Ciao for now...

Yes, so much of a quality life is about listening--to others, to the environment around us et al. Though I am not practicing now, I am a spiritual director--or spiritual companion, and I have long gone to a beloved director. It's all about listening, about feeding back.
Is Tom your husband? Love men's fish stories.

Hello there Fran. How interesting - "a spiritual director." I had never heard of that before. Yes, Tom is my life partner.
Good to have MaryB stop by. Gee, I love her site!
Welcome Teri! How cool to be thought of as a "smart woman." I'll be sure to visit your site and might even leave behind a comment or two ... that, hopefully, will be "smart." How strange to be meeting a "Teri" right now when I am thinking about my own "Terry" so much lately.
Smiles.
