Quote of the day:
I'm sick and tired of violence. I'm tired of the war in Vietnam ... I'm tired of hatred. I'm tired of selfishness. I'm tired of evil. Martin Luther King, Jr.
[From New York Times Book Review: Uneasy Allies by Anthony Lewis 2/5/06]
Yes, yes, yes.

In every age, in every examined person's life, King's message is repeated. As for missing young children, I hear you. I'm still in a K-12 school so I see the little ones every day--and I visit my two nearby baby grandsons every week. But, if I weren't in this situation, I would yearn to be with them like you are yearning. I can see you doing some K-2 visiting to classrooms in your "spare" time. Ha!

Yes, Fran. I do visit classrooms with my students out in the field. But somehow it is just not the same as having them close by under my own care and supervision.
