Returning from Denver I found the yard abloom with daffodils, hyacinths and forsythia, warmer air and happy cats.
The semester is at its peak as we head towards the middle of May and graduation. Commencement comes for me as I, too, am moving on. In the fall I will start a new job at a different university. It seems that I graduated from this my first full-time faculty position in a couple of ways. First, I quickly saw that this was not the place for me after all, and not wanting to waste my rapidly becoming elder life, looked around for something more suited to me; and, second, I survived! And survived well. Enjoyed teaching those wonderful young students of early childhood education, began understanding the academic system, and discovered that research and writing is going to be fulfilling and challenging after all.
And so, Tamarika is on the move ... again.
This time, though, I am feeling excited, more in control of my choices.
"Perhaps I am moving towards something that will finally feel like me," I whisper.
Or is it just that spring is in the air?
Wow, good for you, and congratulations - it all sounds like much to feel good about!
